Dear English Teacher’s Mission

Welcome to Dear English Teacher. This website is dedicated to giving students a voice in what is in their curriculum in English classes. Students in Ms. Beatty’s English 12 class write letters to English Teachers online, making suggestions to them about what they should teach instead of the classic literary canon.

The goal of this page is to encourage students to think critically about what they are being taught, and to give them a space to advocate for themselves. It also serves to inspire teachers to diversify and expand their curriculum based on student logic and suggestions.
